Last weekend I went to San Francisco with my parents! We just wanted to have a mini vacation, and we ended up having a fun visit! One of the great things we found was this bakery! I had never been that one, so we decided to try a few cupcakes! The store was very small, but pretty cute and they had a great variety of cupcakes ranging from vanilla to pink champagne to Andes mint! We tried their lemon raspberry, their red velvet, and their mocha.
The lemon raspberry looked so cute and I love lemon sweets so that was my choice! I always love the look of sanding sugar, but not the texture when I'm eating a cupcake. The cake was very dense and moist with a great lemon flavor. In addition to the raspberry garnish on top, the cupcake had raspberry flavor in the cake and in the frosting, but the lemon still took the staring role. You always have to try a bakery's red velvet! It's the test to see how it compares to all the other red velvets out there! This one was extremely moist so the cake was amazing. Their frosting was very tangy, which I loved, but my mom thought it was just too sweet. The mocha was my mom's pick, but it took us some time to decide between that, the Andes mint, and the s'more. The mocha was a great choice though! I think this one was my favorite, which really surprised me because I'm not a huge fan of chocolate cake. This one had a chocolate and coffee flavored cake with a very light coffee whipped cream frosting. The frosting was amazing and my mom and I both loved that it was light and not too sweet. Both the cake and the frosting were amazing on their own, but together - yum!
We had a great trip and were so excited to try a new cupcake place! We'll definitely go back the next time we go to San Francisco!
